Bill Cole

As Chief Operations Officer, Bill Cole is ultimately responsible for the betterment of Heartland as a whole. Bill started his career in 2000 as a Software Engineer with Peavey Electronics. Bill wrote custom production and testing software whose sole purpose was to streamline and ensure quality (some of which, are still is use today). As a standout performer, Bill joined Ideal Software of Meridian, Mississippi in 2003 as their Director of Support where he oversaw the satisfaction of over 2500 clients worldwide.

Bill joined One Life in 2010 to emerge OLA into technical relevancy. In a relatively short time, One Life was standing up its own proprietary software and reporting solutions, 24/7 support line, and network administration staff, servicing several thousand agents.

In 2018, Bill joined Heartland’s team and has help to redefine and restructure HFG’s continued success. Bill says ‘You teach what you know, but you reproduce who and what you are. I’ve tried to remind myself that over the years.’ Bill and his wife, Jennifer, have 4 children and currently reside in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Aaron Mickelson

Aaron Mickelson currently serves as Heartland’s Chief Financial Officer and has been with HFG since 2019.

For 15 years, Aaron worked in actuarial consulting, public and tax accounting. Aaron graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa with majors in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics. He also has a Masters of Science in Accounting from the Bloch School at University of Missouri.

Aaron is an avid golfer and goes every chance he can. He also likes to bass and crappie fish.

Aaron and his wife, Chrissy, reside in Blue Springs, MO with their three kids and dog.

Thank you for all your help. You have gone above and beyond. Its really refreshing to see some one as proactive and engaged. When I first sent the email after work hours I did not expect a reply let alone an inquiry into my question. Not only did you respond but you provided insight and remedy. Fantastic. In this day and age service of that caliber is almost non existent and is quite honestly a surprise. Based upon this interaction this evening I will definitely sing the praises of Heartland and will be a loyal agent.
